The annual Saltford Santa Dash event has raised a fantastic £4,625 for DHI’s Project 28 service.
The Saltford Santa Dash takes place every year in the run up to Christmas and has raised over £100,000 for local charities since launching in 2013. The event takes in a five mile route around Saltford and Keynsham along with a mini dash for under 12s and a virtual event. Project 28 were one of two charities selected to receive funds from the Santa Dash along with Off The Record Bath and North East Somerset.
Project 28 provides support for young people who are having problems with drugs and alcohol in Bath and North East Somerset. The service is free and confidential and provides a flexible, non-judgemental space for young people to be open about the issues they are facing.
Liz Bryan, Project 28 Service Manager, said: “Despite it being a freezing cold day, it was incredible to see so many Santa’s braving the cold to run the event. Our team were there to encourage the runners and talk to people about the support Project 28 offers. It was a great day and we are thrilled with the money raised that will go towards supporting young people in the local area.”
