With the launch of DHI’s Peer Academy, we are also proud to announce the development of the Peer Academy Toolkit which will help other organisations to develop their own peer service.
Managed and funded by the West of England Combined Authority, led by Metro Mayor Dan Norris, the West of England Peer Academy is delivered by DHI, leveraging their extensive experience in developing peer-led services since 2012. The best practice online toolkit and resources will be available on request to community organisations, working with socially excluded people, within the Combined Authority’s region.
Metro Mayor Dan Norris expressed his support for the initiative, stating: "When I visited DHI, I heard first-hand from people benefiting from peer support and those providing the knowledge, experience, as well as the emotional, social, and practical help with the aim of getting more people into jobs.
“At a time of worker shortages, it is vitally important that we, as a region, utilize the talents and skills of everyone if we are to be the best we can be. I am pleased that DHI has developed this peer training toolkit, thanks to investment from my West of England Combined Authority, so that they can share the expertise they have built up across our region.”
